Just O my God
TenseAll the entrance exams are done, and all I can now do is pray and wait. Not nice. I hope I get in somewhere. Oulu'd be nice, but it's so far away. But it was very beautiful when I was there and all. I don't know what I'll do if I get into more than on university... I'll think about if it happens...
Those being done, I still feel stressed and tense. Don't know why... I just have a very "busy" feeling all the time and it's really getting to me. I really wish I'd have something to do, like a job or something, something out of the house. I think I'm taking in other people's stress; I do that a lot. My whole family's been on hot coals lately, for some reason.
I think dad's like that because he really can't do anything because of his eye and is frustrated because of it (I was there a month ago, so I can imagine). Mom's stressing about something... again! I hope she won't break, 'cause then I'd have to pick up the slack, like last time. And I'm soaking all this in... ugh.
Anyway, I just started reading Twilight... Don't worry; I don't like it. -.-
Although, I do like Edward more than in the movie... He's more lively (and doesn't look nauseous all the time XD). But Bella! She's so annoying! She really has nothing to complain about, yet she's being this self-pitiying damsel-in-distress, who really doesn't know anything about anything. It's so vexing!
I would've thought that the writer herself was a teenager (or a young adult, at least), but then I checked it and it turns out she's 35. How can she write so badly!?
... Or actually, she writes quite well... Too well for a teen novel. There was some difficult sentences (weird word orders and suchlike) and complicated words (like "the tenor of my e-mail", meaning the tone of it); that's linguistic languge; I should know, I've been reading a lot of it for the last month. So, I had to check that, too. And indeed; Stephenie Meyer has a degree in English language.
So I really think she could honestly do a lot better. Just drop the professional language and relax; all her writing seems too thought-of, too planned. Like she's tweaked each paragraph for a day! It's exhausting to read.
I much more like Megan Lindholm... Her works I can recommend to anyone, who wants a little change for the common fantasy genre.
